Our clients in this West London project were looking for us to create a home which reflected the personality of their busy, lively family whilst injecting some elegance and (lots) of colour into their living spaces.

We relished this opportunity and introduced bold hues to the interior design. The reception room and hallway were naturally dark spaces and the client allowed us to play with the atmosphere by using deep inky blues, jewel like colours and luxurious textures in the reception room. A mix of old and new pieces along with the client’s fabulous artwork kept this space feeling fun and inviting.

The hallway scheme was derived from the colours used in the William Morris wallpaper. The lino tiled floor and reclaimed antiqued lanterns (spray painted in a pop of orange) added playful elements to the otherwise serious plums and reds used

in the scheme. The tiny WC was papered in a busy Pierre Frey wallpaper in a tonal mustard which linked with the kitchen diner it was adjacent to.

The kitchen diner was formed in a new extension which the client was keen to keep ‘urban’ looking whilst a clear instruction of wanting a yellow kitchen was adhered to. We worked with a kitchen company to design the kitchen with oak counter top reeded glass cabinets and screen (hiding a pantry) adding warmth to the scheme whilst reflective wall tiles and a textured concrete floor saved the new extension from feeling clinical and bland.

Upstairs, a teenage bed, in a tiny space, was elevated into the ceiling to create a much-wanted double bed whilst allowing for desk and storage space underneath. A bathroom was renovated and painted rich yellow and a stripey blind added to give the family space a playful feel.
