We worked with the client’s of this South East London home over several years, starting with their double reception room. The brief was to create a sophisticated members club style space with a sense of fun. Floor boards were stained, and a smokey green paint colour transformed the atmosphere of the rooms. Antique glass mirrors added elegance but also served to bounce light around the room, whilst a combination of modern and traditional lights kept things feeling upto date. Furniture was sourced from ebay and upholstered in luxe fabrics. We created a gallery wall using the client’s existing artwork ensuring the space remained feeling personal and unique to them.

We were then asked to complete the ground floor, beginning with the hallway which was cold and uninviting. We added drama to the space with a bold wallpaper and deep terracotta ceiling highlighting the original cornice. We created a bespoke console and sourced new lighting to create a a welcoming and cosy entrance to the home.

The client considered a side extension to the kitchen diner but there were budget constraints so our brief was to improve the flow of space, design a new kitchen and fully decorate. This was achieved by flipping the kitchen putting the kitchen at the back near the garden and creating a cosy bench seat nook at the back.

The existing space was very box like and characterless so we installed tongue and groove on the walls, created food to ceiling storage and used a tonal paint scheme to bring a cohesive and calm feel to the rooms. Lighting was key to the change in atmosphere which was needed, task lighting was introduced to the kitchen area and both decorative lighting and lighting with shades, used to soften the space and add cosiness.
