After years of putting decoration on hold while raising their children, the clients were ready to refresh their home. With teenagers in mind, the scheme needed to balance style with durability and practicality. Our brief was to introduce colour, warmth and personality while working around key existing elements such as the flooring and kitchen cabinetry. Previously dark and uninspiring, the hallway lacked both light and energy. To create an uplifting and welcoming first impression, we paired deep aubergine walls below the dado with a small-scale ochre wallpaper above. Updated lighting and patterned door curtains added warmth, texture and a strong sense of identity.

With beautiful architectural features already in place, the challenge in the reception room was layout and cohesion. North-facing and underused, the space was transformed with a rich caramel wall colour, layered textures and pattern, and a flexible lighting scheme to create a cosy, inviting room for relaxing.

In the family snug, despite generous built-in shelving, the room lacked comfortable seating and was rarely used. By reconfiguring the joinery to accommodate a sofa and repainting the space in a deeper, warmer tone, we created a relaxed family snug. Colour and character were added through artwork, textiles and lighting.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen diner, keeping the existing cabinetry, we brought warmth and energy through bold colour, texture and pattern. Green zellige tiles added sparkle and freshness, while accents of yellow and cobalt blue tied the space to the adjoining snug, creating a cohesive and lively family hub.
