This vibrant project was all about adding energy and personality to a busy family home. Our clients, a young family with little ones, wanted a space that reflected their love for colour and pattern. The key areas they wanted to transform included the entrance hall, family bathroom, and guest bedroom — which also needed to function as a multi-purpose sewing space. With small children in mind, we made sure the design was both playful and practical.

The entryway and hallway were the first areas that we injected colour. The bland white walls didn’t reflect the bright, cheerful vibe the clients wanted, so we chose a warm, welcoming colour palette with a twist: two shades of terra cotta pink paired with a bold primary blue stripe at dado height. This fun colour scheme carried up the staircase and onto the landing, where large windows and glazed doors flooded the guest WC with natural light and whimsy.

The family bathroom was another space that received a complete makeover. We replaced the existing dull bathroom with a fun yet practical remodel. Mermaid-print wallpaper and classic checkerboard floors added personality, while still being easy to maintain. We also designed a custom vanity to store bath toys and other essentials, plus a cushioned bench seat that doubled as extra storage. 

In the guest bedroom, the space was transformed into a dual-purpose room that could function as both a welcoming guest area and a sewing space. The yellow striped wallpaper was chosen to add a burst of buttery joy, while coordinating with the existing curtains that the client wanted to keep. Reusing existing furniture in the room, we repainted the lamp base and added an upholstered headboard to transform the plain wooden bed frame.

From the bold, welcoming colour scheme in the entryway to the playful yet practical family bathroom, every space was transformed to reflect the family’s love for colour, pattern, and creativity.
